Wordless Wednesday 14 - Autumn in New England

  1. We love fall colors. We have been out on some hikes enjoying them here too. We are starting to get snow in the mountains already though so they won't be around for much longer.

    Happy Wordless Wednesday.

  3. Fall is pretty here in TN too.  Be careful on the end of the rocks!  Enjoy.

  4. Wow!  Look at those colors!  It seems our part of town in New Mexico misses the changing of colors.

  7. Hi Bella,

    Nice to meet you! :)

I'm impressed you climbed up onto that rock, you must be very brave!

We've got some Autumn colours on our leaves too, but it's still pretty warm right now, we went to the park today and Mum was just wearing her T-shirt, I don't think it will be so warm soon....

    Glad you're having fun,

    Your new pal Snoopy :)

  9. Bella -- that's one big rock there! I think my mommy would be scared to take me up on that rock, 'cause I might just wanna jump off! Beautiful scenery though! :)

    Woofs & hugs, <3

  11. such a pretty picture!

i just gave your blog a quick skim and added it to my google reader. it looks highly enjoyable! can't wait to dive in.

i have a design question for you if you don't mind--your tab with the blog roll... how did you do that? did you install a gadget on the page or did you do the whole thing manually?

  12. Whew - I spent so much time checking out the blog hop yesterday, I'm only just now getting back to my own site!

We actually don't have much left in the way of leaves here either since "#snowtober" blasted through a couple of weeks ago.  (That picture is very, very old. ;)  But it is still 'officially' fall and I wanted to enjoy the colors a little longer.

My Lab and I used to go hiking a lot and I love your blog for all the hiking you get to do.  Thanks for visiting.

  14. Hello Harville Hounds and mom! Thanks for visiting.

I have a friend in TN who used to live in New England with me.  She says it's really pretty down there in the Fall, too, which makes her miss living up here a little less.  :)

PS - That rock isn't really as big as it looks. ;)

  15. Hi Pup Fan, Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. :)

I should probably add an 'about the pictures' page because my dad's photos seem to be the ones getting the most attention. ;) He had a wonderful eye.

  18. It's the best time of year up here if you ask me. :)

New Mexico, I understand though, has its own lovely colors that you get to enjoy all year long. I hope to visit someday because it looks so lovely.

  19. Hi Diane and Cosmo!

Thank you. I felt I needed one final blast of fall color before I prepare myself for the winter that's coming. :)

    Thanks for visiting!

  20. (Shhhh - it's my dad's.)

Thanks very much for stopping by.  I happened upon your blog via a blog paws discussion and look forward to visiting more often now that I've found you. (While Bella may not be exactly cat friendly, the dog in this picture loved his cats more than anything in the world except me. There will be videos posted someday... :)

  21. Thanks, Finn.  I figured you'd be a Fall kind of dog.  :)

  22. Thanks - it's my dad's shot but since I'm in it, I thought it was fair to put on the blog. ;)

Thanks for visiting.  Your blog is gorgeous and your photos phenomenal!  I'm hoping to learn by watching.

  23. Hi Snoopy!!  Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. I've been enjoying your blog.

Most of our leaves are gone after a snow storm (!) we had a couple of weeks ago but then I was outside in a t-shirt yesterday so maybe fall isn't quite done here yet.

(PS - That rock isn't as big as it looks. While my dogs may not worry about heights too much, I most certainly do!! ;)

  24. It's a favorite of mine. Brings me back to a time when I was in grad school, Beau was a young buck and my dad and I used to go for walks together in the Rhode Island woods.

    Thanks for 'feeling' it.

  25. Hi there, Bailey! Thanks for visiting.

Allow me to point out the red leash of which I have a firm grip in that picture.  No dogs overboard, please. :)

  26. I didn't think you looked especially happy there.  At least you were in full freak-out mode that Bella would have been in. :)

How did a doggie get to be in the audience for a MS show, though?  Is she just that awesomely dog friendly?  That's kind of exciting.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  27. Hi Lauren - Wow, thanks for adding me to your reading list. I haven't been around long but I hope you find what's coming interesting enough.

I wish I could tell you I had some fancy program that keeps the list updated but I don't.  I did it by hand because I couldn't find anything that would accommodate blogs on all different platforms (the blogger "follow" only lists blogger blogs and while the blog roll widget allows you to enter whatever blogs you want, it's a bit restrictive in the directory structure - i.e. if someone's blog is located within their site, the blog roll widget just sends you to the home page and not the blog - no matter how many times I tried to manipulate that code. ;)

FTR, I'm a bit of a geek so typing up the html was no big deal.  Setting it up was a bit time consuming but keeping up with it hasn't been too bad.  Wish I had a better answer for you.

(PS -  I'm in love with Desmond! Thank you for rescuing him.)

  28. this is what i feared. oh well. i guess i'll have to stop being lazy about it. i feel like my sidebar is very cluttered, and it drives me nuts, so i wanted to move my list of links to a tab. one of these days...

desmond is also in love with desmond, so you guys have that in common. ;-)

  29. LOL - you're too funny.

You know, if you have a list of the blogs you want like to include, I could write that up for you in no time.  (Did I mention I'm a geek?)  If you want, send me a list via email, I'll put it together for you in html tables and send it back for you to copy and paste into a page...

And yeah, I didn't like having so much stuff in my sidebar either which is why I moved it to a page.

  31. Sure.  I don't have a lot to offer this community what with all the pet experts and pro-photogs etc but figure I can help with some of the technical stuff.  Happy to help.  :)
