Saturday's Dog: Sasha

Look at that face!

You might think by looking at her, that Sasha would spend about fifteen minutes in a shelter before someone came along and scooped up this charming young dog (still less than a year old). In fact, she has already spent a few months there and her puppyhood is slipping away.

She's a sweet, somewhat shy Miniature Pinscher mix who looks a bit like a teeny, tiny Chocolate Lab. She has spirit and spunk to spare and doesn't appear to be nervous around other dogs. She was shy around me (our first meeting) but not with Cindy whom she knows. She's a funny, very playful puppy and, like all puppies, will need some assistance in becoming a confident, grown-up dog. An adult household would be best because she's both small and a bit 'intense'.

Don't you just want to throw that ball for her?

Sasha is available at Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA.

  12. I KNOW, right?  How has she not been scooped up yet? Well, we're trying to and hoping for her to find a new home soon.

Thanks for visiting.  Sorry it took so long to reply, I've kind of had the flu... Hope you had a good weekend.

  13. What a wonderful gift your friend gave you.  I can see why you get all leaky-eyed when writing about it.

  14. LOL - unfortunately, that ball probably weighed more than she does even if it would have fit in her mouth. ;)  Still made for a great picture though.  :)

  18. Hey Koot!  Thanks for stopping by.  I think I saw your hu-mom's hu-mom over on Coffee with a Canine today.  Is that correct?  That's pretty cool - a whole family of bloggers. :)

  21. Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by. She is a little darling, isn't she?  I still can't believe she didn't get scooped right out of there.  She will, I just hope it's soon so she can still be puppy-ish in her new home.

  22. Oh yeah, I want to throw the ball!  I miss having a 'fetch' dog.  Our first greyhound really spoiled us because he was just such an all-round good dog, who loved to train, loved all other dogs, and loved to play fetch - something not a lot of greyhounds will do.  I can still see his sweet face as he barked joyfully to encourage me to throw something for him!

  23. Hi Jay.  I kind of miss having a fetch dog, too. (It was just so much easier to entertain a dog that would chase a ball for hours.

I never thought about Greyhounds not playing fetch but it makes sense - good at the chase, maybe not so good about bringing it back. ;)

    Thanks for visiting.
