Journal Entry - January 19th, 2015

Bella played ball with me yesterday.

It wasn't exactly fetch. Sometimes she brought the ball back. More often she picked it up and played with it by herself - swatting and stomping on it with her feet, pushing it with her nose, tossing it in the air allowing for a second catch, and chasing it again when it rolled down the hill.

But she got excited when I did get hold of it, jumping up and down, and watching and waiting in anticipation of it being thrown again.

She is almost 7 year old and I think she has finally figured out that ball is a great game made better when played by two.

It was delightful.

  5. I'm with you, Bella. Fetch is confusing. I usually run for the ball, bring it on the couch, and try to hatch it like an egg. Apparently this is not "fetch."

  7. That is excellent. Our Hailey has no interest in bringing the ball back, she likes to chase it and pounce it though.

  9. Fetch is my dog's job, being a Border Collie I am not kidding when I say it is her job. It is always great fun.

  13. Hello, Bella looks pretty smart. I love the way you have found her to be a part of your family. Why dont you make her join a school wherein the activities are refreshing and playful and the price is not so high? This way her smartness and skills get pruned like you may never know. She might just get lucky at a dog show near you. I say this because she IS smart. You should check out here: http://www.isaidsit.com/
