  13. "Wise." He was, indeed. Remarkably so. :)

It'll be hard for me to write about him but I think it's time...

  14. That wasn't his ordinary view - we were hiking together - but he did used to 'survey his domain'.  :)

  15. He was special. I'm looking forward to telling his story.

  16. LOL - the world.  He thought he owned it. ;)

  17. Thanks. The subject is everything sometimes, isn't it?

  18. He grew up in the woods - and was hiking with me before he was a year old. He was an amazing partner.

  19. One thing I miss with Bella is being able to get these shots because we're just not out there the same way Beau and I were.  He was 100% reliable, 110% trust-worthy.

  20. That was on a back-packing trip he and I took to Maine. Just 3 days but it was heaven.

  21. Happy Thursday, Jen! And thanks.

  22. And then some, Deccy, and then some. (He is still missed. Desperately.)

  23. Thank you (and thanks for visiting!)  We were hiking in the Maine woods. Talk about heaven on earth. :)

  24. Thanks. We thought he was a handsome fella.  I hope I can write about him - it's always been a little difficult.  I'm hoping to 'get it all out' over the next couple of weeks...

  25. Yup - he was "king of all he surveyed".  Talk about "alpha" in the purest sense of the word. Everyone was calmer when he was around. ;)

  26. Ah I think he must be the chap you mentioned before. Your Beau is my Flynn - both very difficult for Bella and Deccy to live up to?!

  27. Great picture!!!

  28. That would be him.  I like to think Bella and Deccy have only themselves to live up to - they're one of a kind(s). :)

  29. Thanks, Higgins and Patrice. :hugs:

  30. He was... this means... he's gone?!?

Well, I can't wait to read about him. It hurts to lose a pet. And I certainly would love to hear more about Beau.

  31. You can say that again! But we wouldn't swap them for the world eh?!

  32. Hi Haopee, yes, sadly, Beau left us in 2008.  It still hurts.  He was a good dog and I'm looking forward to telling you his story.

  33. What an amazing photo, in so many ways. Reminds me so much of the lab we had growing up. I miss her.

  34. Hi ingrid, thanks for visiting.  We all seem to have "one of those dogs" in our history, somewhere, don't we?
