Bella's week at the beach

We're back from vacation and do we have stories to tell. But first, we need to recover.

In the meantime, we offer you: Bella's first experience with the beach. (She loved it!)

(Please pardon the parts where she's not actually in the video. Bella is not only fast, she never runs in a straight line.)

Thanks for visiting and commenting while we were away. We hope to catch up on everything that's been happening in our friends' lives very soon.

  1. My peoples do keep bringing me to the beach and saying I "should" like
it, you know, cause I'm a "Lab" and all (talk about labeling someone)
but I never really saw the draw to going in the waves. Now give me a
kiddie pool, and that's a different story...

Anyway, Bella sure does look she's having fun. It was so nice of you to bring her with you on your vacation, unlike my peoples who left me behind when they went to Florida, but brought the girls.

  3. The "Wipeout" rhythm went well with Bella's zoomies! Glad no one actually wiped out.

  5. I couldn't stop smiling to see Bella playing on the beach. And you picked the perfect music.

Thanks for posting this great video before you've even had a chance to catch your breath.

  6. She's so fast I'm surprised you were able to keep her in the video at all. She obviously had a blast!

  7. Oh Bella! You look so happy and miles away from annoying scary flies. That's a really REALLY long leash you have :) X

  8. She had a great time, didn't she?  Did she ever go in the water?

  9. Hi Oskar!  Thanks for dropping by.  I thought I already had joined up at PBU but have gone back over to check things out again.  I'll drop you a line as soon as I get my head back out of vacation-time. :)  Thanks!

  10. Thanks, Pamela, I was hoping you would like it. :)

  11. She was quite happy (although Jan did have to remove a fly here as well - I think they're stalking her. :)

Oh, yeah, to note, those are two long leads hooked together each about 20 - 30 feet each.  I just can't trust what would happen if she ever spooked when she was truly off-leash.  As you can see, she'd be much too fast for us to catch her.

  12. Nope, never put so much as a toenail in it.  Although she did manage to get my sister soaked by waiting until the last second before sprinting away faster than my sister could. ;)

  13. She was struggling with the sand - she's much faster on solid ground.  It was so great to see her romp with such abandon.

  14. Bella's not particularly fond of water no matter the form it takes - beach, pool, stream...  But I couldn't keep my Lab, Beau, out of it.  He'd plop in a puddle if he found one.  And he was a maniac at the beach.  Every dog is an individual, Toby.  I hope you have fun at the beach even if you don't go in the water.  :)

I have to tell ya', Toby, bringing Bella on vacation was a lot of work.  I can't imagine bringing 3 dogs!  Maybe next time you'll get to go and the girls will stay home?

  18. Funny you asked that Leslie-peoples. I overheard that there is a short trip coming up REALLY soon, and the plan is to leave Leah with the Grandpeoples...so maybe it's my turn to go? Guess I'll find out when they pack up the car. Hope it's somewhere fun.

  22. Really?  Deccy doesn't run at the beach?  Bella never did step even a toe in the water but boy did she want to play with the seagulls. :)

  23. Loved the video, my dogs love the beach and it is such fun to have them with me on vacation, but as you said to Toby it IS a lot of work. :-)

  24. Yay! I am glad you are back and had a great time!

Bella looks so cute in this video! It's almost like she is trying to get the waves to play with her. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!
