Wordless Wednesday 18 - Thor's cushions

I had a different picture planned for today but recently received this in an email from my sister. Apparently her Bull Mastiff*, Thor, didn't appreciate how she had the cushions laid out and decided to, shall we say, 're-decorate' according to his needs.

I love this big guy! (Bella, however, does not so we have wisely chosen to limit their interactions since Thor has about 70 lbs on Bella and probably wouldn't be as gracious as Gus in her ill treatment of him.)

* Donna, did I finally get it right - Bull Mastiff, not English, yes?

  1. Clearly Thor knows doggy feng shui -- notice how the left hand one is perfectly placed for his head.

Leslie -- he's a big boy!  Perfect name!

  2. Now that is really redecorating.  Good thing he didn't decide to move the whole couch!

  3. You're right, Les, not an English Mastiff- a Bullmastiff. Those are our outdoor furniture cushions- we brought them in when we were expecting the hurricane to come closer.  Glad he enjoyed them.

  5. It's just as well Donna took the photo, next time she can arrange them just like this and save Thor from having to do it:)  He's a gorgeous chap.

  6. LOL! Looks like Thor has it right!!!
I always get the English and the Bull part mixed up too:))

  7. That is so sweet (especially since he only 'redecorated' and didn't destroy all her furniture!)

  8. Love it! Maybe him and Twiggy discussed this beforehand??

  9. It looks to me as though Thor definitely got it right!!  What do humans know about arranging cushions!!  Huh?

    Sweet Dreams Thor,

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  10. Hee hee. Dewi likes to throw off the seat cushions on our recliners. Dogs can be odd balls. :)

  11. Thor is a great name for a Mastiff!!! Barbie does that with cushions sometimes but she much prefers blankies as she can pull them off the couch or bed and make them into a perfect greyhound nest.

  12. A man has to make himself comfy after all! Deccy x

  13. And Thor didn't even need to jump all the way up on the couch. What a smart boy.

  15. Nice decorating job!  I am sure there are a lot of canine clients around who would like to hire!

  16. Well I think Thor did a lovely job. LOL!

  17. LOL - yeah, he IS a big boy, Cindy.  And he's a leaner.  Give that a thought for a moment... ;)

  18. Haha - we're pretty sure he could, too! :)

  19. Yay, I finally got it right! (I confess, I Googled the difference and figured it out that way. ;)

  20. Hi Nola - hey, I bet Thor's head weighs more than you do. (I bet his FOOT weighs more than you. ;)

  21. LOL - not a bad idea that.  He is a handsome fella, isn't he?

  22. Oh, I don't mind getting them mixed up but this is my sister's dog - one would think I'd be able to remember by now.  :]

I think he's kind of smart - why bother with dog beds that probably don't fit him anyway? Just grab the couch, er, I mean the cushions...  :)

  23. Oh, he was just being kind.  Thor has a bit (a BIT?!) of separation anxiety and has done more than his share of damage to my sister's house.  Luckily this time he was just looking for a cozy place to nap. ;)

  24. Hi Chloe, thanks for visiting.  I had a good chuckle when I saw your WW post.  I don't even know how Twiggy did that though... :)

  25. Yup, if the humans won't decorate dog-appropriately, I think it's only fair you guys do it yourself. ;)

  26. My Lab used to throw the pillows off a chair so he could have more room in the chair.  They're pretty smart about getting what they want - one way or another. ;)

  27. Bella's a blankie girl, too.  Of course, she probably couldn't lift those cushions so there's that. ;)

Before Thor, my sister had another Bull Mastiff named Zeus.  I'm sensing a pattern here....

  28. If the humans won't do it, the dogs will. :)

  29. I don't think Thor actually "jumps" anywhere. ;) On the bright side, yeah, he probably doesn't have to. lol

  30. Gotta admire his ingenuity, right Bert?  :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOL - he could certainly be of assistance to some of the more diminutive canines in our company, don't you think?

  32. I think it was nice of him to put additional cushions down so the humans could enjoy the comforts of his labor as well. ;)

  34. Now that's initiative and creative genius right there! I wish I could meet this dog *waggy tail*

  35. LOL - yeah, I figure he should just take over the bed and let the humans have the cushions... :]
